Walks

If you are a fan of walking, in Margečan and its surroundings, there are plenty of beautiful walking routes. We recommend a shorter walk from our vacation homes to the center of Margečan and the watermill in Margečan. From the watermill, you can continue through the fields and meadows on a dirt road. You can often see many birds here. If you feel like taking a slightly longer walk, from Margečan you can walk along the road to Castles Bela 1 and Bela 2 and rest at the chapel in Belski dol. This is a walk of about 3 km in one direction. You can return the same way.

From Belski dol, you can also take a slightly longer route (4.4 km) by heading towards Završje Podbelsko, then after crossing the bridge over Bednja, turn left at the intersection.

One of the more pleasant walking routes, which mostly passes through well-maintained forest paths, is from the location Prigorec (parking lot Repikovec) to the rest area and waterfall Šumi. The route is not demanding and goes through beautiful forest landscapes. At the end, a waterfall awaits you where you can rest and take photos.
If the hiking trails are too challenging, there is also a gravel road leading to Mount Ivanščica. Žgano Vino is the starting point for hikers to Mount Ivančica who start their hike from here. However, you can also walk along the road leading to the top. The road to the top is 10 km, but you can shorten the route as much as you like and return back.

An interesting destination for a walk can also be the location Prigorec. Take a walk from the parking lot Repikovec to Žgano Vino and to the chapel of St. Spirit.
The town of Ivanec is also an interesting destination for walks. Take a stroll through the town center, visit the city park, church. Walk from one end of the town to the other. Take a walk around the lakes in Ivanec.
